The Main House is where most of the students reside in the program. Each room holds up to 4 students and provides a more private setting for prayer and Bible study.
On Tuesday evenings, students can attend classes on various topics, such as Building a Foundation of Faith, Repentance and The Fear of the Lord. Several of those classes are hosted here. All are led by Pure Life counselors.
On Friday evenings, the campus is filled with prayer as students and staff gather into groups across the facility, praying for various needs within and without the ministry. A few of those groups meet here in the house.
Many men and women have experienced the presence of the Lord in the services held in this building on Sunday mornings and Thursday evenings. Addicted men have walked out these doors free from sexual sin. God moves powerfully when staff, students, and guests gather here.
It is a common testimony among the student body that the Thursday service is what they look forward to each week. Those nights are times of worship and short, impromptu talks by PLM staff. The Spirit moves as He will bring a timely word that weaves its way throughout the service.
This building is also open throughout the day so that students can find a place to get alone with the Lord in prayer, Bible study, or just simply to be in His presence.
The Student Center is a hub for many activities. It serves as a quiet location for students to dig into the Word of God in their own quiet times or to work on their counseling homework. It is the site for many prayer groups throughout the week, with the wrap around porch being a popular location. The laundry room is also found here, which provides extra space for Bible study and the occasional haircut.
It is also where meals are served. Every weekday evening, a dinner is provided for all students, guests, and staff. This is a great opportunity for students and staff to come together in fellowship and discuss what the Lord has been doing during their time in the program. Often when conversations are steered towards the Lord, a staff member will have an encouraging or insightful word to share that can greatly impact the course of a student’s program.
The counseling office is where students will meet with their assigned counselor once a week. Every certified biblical counselor has been through the residential program, giving them first-hand knowledge and experience about the journey each student is on.
Counselors have one main goal in mind for each student: get their eyes on the Lord. An atmosphere conducive to this goal is established through each counselor preparing for each session by spending time in the Word and in prayer. This helps them to hear the Lord in guiding their student during his time in the program. During sessions, students are encouraged to be as open as possible because their counselor has their best in mind.
Each counselor has several students, and from time to time they will hold group sessions in one of the group session rooms.
The Lazarus dormitory is where the first part of a student’s program begins, and it is very crucial. This is where the Lord begins His resurrecting, life-changing, work on a man’s heart.
Each student spends 1-2 months here, meeting and fellowshipping with other men at the beginning of their programs. Also, 1-2 men who are close to graduating will reside here as well. These will help newer students become acclimated to the different aspects of the program, learn how to live in community, and encourage them through difficult times.
Spending quality time with the Lord and with others are very important aspects to a student’s progress, and this is just one of the many areas on campus where this can occur. Many graduates have made life-long friendships as they battle together and encourage each other in the Lord.
Other study and social areas include the wrap-around porch at the Student Center, the pavilion (located between the Student Center and the Main House), and the common areas of each of our 3 main dormitories.
The Ridge is one of the best spots on campus to get alone with the Lord and seek Him. Students will be able to enjoy one-on-one time with God as they look out upon the hills of Kentucky. Just a short walk away from the main campus, the ridge affords time for prayer and bearing the soul to the Lord.
Being out in the world clouds the heart and mind. The Pure Life campus not only separates a man from tempting influences, but it also brings him closer to the Creator of the Universe amid the beauty of nature. Sunrises, sunsets, and the night sky never looked so amazing or so grand. Access to the prayer trails is also found here.
At the end of the ridge is the cross. If a student is ever struggling with their flesh, are stressed about life situations at home, or if they just need a fresh sight of the Lord, this is the place to do it. The cross is the place where history changed, and it can be the place where every man who comes through the Residential Program can find the change he desperately needs.
On the backend of the 45-acre campus, and at the bottom of the Ridge, are the prayer trails. This is yet another great place for anyone to seek the Lord, clear their mind, pray, read, or do homework. Posted throughout the trail are Scripture verses which the Residential Program is built upon.
The trail has been a favorite location for many students, and grads will walk this path when they come for a visit in order to relive some of the most impactful moments of their program when the Lord met them here.
